Chromebooks could get a boost from Snapdragon X Plus chips soon

Google is rolling out updates to its ChromeOS, enhancing support for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips in Chromebooks, including the upcoming X1P42100 (Snapdragon X Plus) processor. This marks the start of active development for devices powered by this chip, offering strong AI capabilities despite being less powerful than top Windows 11 laptops’ processors. Past Google Chromebooks have relied on slower Snapdragon chips, like the 7c or Gen 2 models, which have underperformed compared to alternatives from MediaTek and Intel.
