No death penalty for son of Mexican drug boss ‘El Chapo’: US prosecutors

Federal prosecutors have ruled against seeking the death penalty for Joaquin Guzman Lopez, the son of "El Chapo," if he is convicted of drug trafficking charges. Despite his role as a leader in his father’s cartel and carrying one charge that could result in the maximum sentence, prosecutors have decided not to pursue the death penalty.
