The United States has seen a notable shift in where its major products come from, with many items sourced from countries outside of China. This change began in 2018 when U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods led manufacturers to build factories in places like Mexico and Vietnam, resulting in increased imports of Chinese components for assembled products such as Nintendo consoles. Some products, like vacuum cleaners, have shifted their top suppliers from China to Vietnam within the past five years. However, a small but significant portion of furniture and mattresses remains made domestically due to high costs and limited production capacity.
