Europe in talks with U.S. over ultimatum to end war in Ukraine

Senior European officials are collaborating with U.S. officials to negotiate a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, which could result in new sanctions against Russia if President Putin doesn't agree. The U.S., however, demands an unconditional truce lasting at least a month and accountability from both parties for respecting direct negotiations. U.S. President Donald Trump has signaled his support for additional sanctions should the ceasefire fail to be respected.
