Freepik releases an ‘open’ AI image generator trained on licensed data

Freepik launched F Lite, an open-source AI image generator trained exclusively on commercially licensed images, aiming to provide transparency for developers while avoiding copyright issues. The model, developed with Fal.ai, requires significant computational resources (24GB VRAM) but offers a valuable tool for enhancing existing AI models without copying leading generators like Midjourney or Flux.
