Texas Tech's Nijaree Canady downplays injury, to start in WCWS

Texas Tech's Nijaree Canady pitched a flawless game, striking out eight as her team defeated Oklahoma in the Women's College World Series, reaching the final. Though her left hamstring injury initially posed concerns, it didn't disrupt her performance against Texas, allowing her to pitch all innings and become the first player since 2019 to do so for a team advancing to the championship series. Canady, who led Tech to their first WCWS appearance, is now 32-5 with an impressive 0.86 ERA this season after signing an NIL deal post-her time at Stanford.
