Trump Administration to Uphold Some PFAS Limits but Eliminate Others

The Environmental Protection Agency has decided to maintain drinking water standards for two "forever chemicals," PFAS, while delaying their enforcement and relaxing limits on four related substances. This move comes as President Biden had set strict targets, particularly a four-part-per-trillion level for PFOA and PFOS. The relaxation of these regulations follows concerns about public health risks associated with exposure to PFAS, which are found in various everyday products and linked to metabolic disorders, fertility issues, developmental delays, and increased cancer risks.
