Women with endometriosis are significantly more likely to experience early or induced menopause compared to other groups, with a sevenfold risk of surgical menopause. A study found that those with endometriosis face premature natural menopause in 5% of cases and premature surgical menopause in 19%—twice as likely before age 40. Current management guidelines for endometriosis primarily focus on pain and infertility, neglecting the issue of early menopause, which has been linked to adverse health outcomes.
