Fivetran acquires Census to become end-to-end data movement platform

Fivetran, a leading enterprise data movement platform, announced its acquisition of Census, a reverse extract, transform, and load (ETL) platform, enhancing its ability to provide end-to-end data solutions. The deal, valued at $630 million in 2022, brings Cassiopeia's technology to Fivetran, allowing the companies' teams to merge seamlessly while preserving their distinct cultures. Fraser highlighted the strategic decision not to develop a reverse ETL solution internally but instead acquire Census due to shared customer bases and philosophical alignment, ensuring synergy between the two platforms.
