Cameroon: Tributes Pour In for Zeitz MOCAA CEO and Chief Curator Koyo Kouoh

Koyo Kouoh, a renowned Cameroonian-born curator and cultural leader, passed away in Switzerland at 57. As CEO and chief curator of Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town, she left an indelible mark on contemporary African art. She was close to curating the Venice Biennale in 2026, a project deeply cherished by her. The museum has closed its doors until further notice as a respectful tribute to her contribution and the loss of this significant cultural event.
