Whoop backpedals on its paid upgrade whoops

Whoop Fitness faced backlash after users discovered their Whoop 5.0 fitness tracker broke its promise of free hardware upgrades. The company initially misled customers by stating six-month members could get a free upgrade but later clarified that only those with more than 12 months remaining on their membership can receive the upgrade for free. Users, some of whom had just 11 months left, are reportedly canceling subscriptions or expressing frustration. Critics argue the company should own up to its error and be more transparent rather than continue confusing messaging.
