Alonso to join Real Madrid after Ancelotti takes Brazil job: Reports

Xabi Alonso, 43, is poised to take over as manager of Real Madrid after Bayer Leverkusen ends his contract this season. The Spanish star will replace Carlo Ancelotti, who is also heading to Brazil ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Having guided Leverkusen to Bundesliga and cup titles last term, Alonso brings a proven track record in European football. Meanwhile, Ancelotti's departure from Real Madrid, despite his recent success in two Champions League and La Liga titles, signals a challenging period for the Spanish giants as they face competition from Barcelona in key competitions this season.
