William Goodge smashes record after running across Australia in 35 days

ultrarunner William Goodge shattered Australia's record for running across the country by completing 3,800km in just over four days, starting from Cottesloe beach in Perth. Inspired by his late mother Amanda Goodge’s battle with cancer, he finished at Bondi Beach in Sydney shortly after 4pm on Monday, becoming the fastest British athlete to cover such a distance and beating previous record holder Chris Turnbull by nearly four days. Goodge dedicated his efforts to raising funds for the Cancer Council of Australia in memory of his mother, who passed away from cancer seven-and-a-half years earlier.
