Ryan Murphy and Kaia Gerber Developing FX Series Based on Bret Easton Ellis Novel ‘The Shards’

Ryan Murphy and FX are developing an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' 2023 novel "The Shards," featuring a serial killer in 1980s LA inspired by Ellis' own life. The show will star Kaia Gerber, who previously worked with Murphy on hit series like 'American Horror Story,' and director Max Winkler. If greenlit, the series will join FX's growing roster of Murphy projects, including 'All’s Fair' and '9-1-1 Nashville.'
