Mitsui starts mass production of e-methanol with Danish firm

Mitsui and European Energy have successfully launched the world's first mass production of environmentally friendly e-methanol, produced using low-carbon hydrogen from solar energy and CO2 captured from biomass. This innovative process significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to traditional methanol and has potential applications in sustainable aviation fuel. The joint venture, Solar Park Kasso ApS, aims to support decarbonization efforts across industries reliant on fossil fuels while contributing to a greener future. With plans to sell its production to major companies like AP Moller-Maersk and Lego, Mitsui is eager to expand its global market, including in Japan.
