Pope Francis's funeral will air live on YouTube as he passes away at 88 from a stroke and cardiac arrest. Vatican News' YouTube channel will stream the service at 10 a.m. CET/4 a.m. ET, offering coverage in English, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and German. The ceremony, held in St. Peter’s Square, marks a rare global opportunity to honor the pope, following Vatican News’ expanded reach post-COVID with streams beginning earlier than usual. Since March 2020, when Mass was also livestreamed due to COVID-19 risks, the channel has grown to nearly a million followers.
