Valve takes another step toward making SteamOS a true Windows competitor

Valve has announced plans to expand SteamOS beyond the Steam Deck, starting with Asus ROG Ally devices, to include more handheld PCs. A new "SteamOS Compatible" label will be introduced to indicate whether a game supports SteamOS, helping users understand potential compatibility issues before purchasing or playing. This label ensures games marked as compatible will function well on SteamOS but doesn’t guarantee flawless performance, as not all Windows games are supported due to limitations in Proton technology. Over 18,000 titles already available on Steam and compatible with the Steam Deck qualify for this designation without additional effort from developers.
