Israel Bombs Yemen’s Main Airport in Retaliation for Houthi Strike

Airstrikes in Yemen targeted its main international airport on Tuesday as a retaliatory measure against Houthi missile attacks near Israel’s airport last weekend. The Houthis, who control much of northwestern Yemen including Sanaa, have been hitting targets ranging from Israeli locations to ships in the Red Sea, part of their alleged solidarity campaign with Palestinian groups in Gaza. Since March, the U.S.-backed bombing campaign against Yemen has been aimed at weakening the Houthi military's ability to strike ships, and President Trump hinted that he might halt these strikes if the Houthis show signs of reduction in fighting.
