Volkswagen recalls 5,700 ID.Buzz electric vans because their seats are too spacious

Volkswagen has issued a safety recall on 5,637 2025 ID.Buzz electric vans due to potentially dangerous seating issues that could leave passengers exposed in an accident. The third-row bench seats are wide enough for three people but don't have proper seatbelt coverage, raising the risk of injury or death during a crash. To address this, Volkswagen plans to add "unpadded trim parts" to limit seat width while maintaining comfort and functionality. The electric van is priced at $60,000 with an EPA range exceeding 234 miles, available in multiple color options.
