Endangered greater gliders recorded in proposed great koala national park in NSW as logging continues

Government surveys have revealed that tens of thousands of endangered greater gliders are present in the proposed area for the Great Koala National Park in New South Wales. The survey, conducted at 169 sites within the 176,000-hectare area, estimates a population between 29,693 and 44,211 greater gliders. Despite this significant finding, the government has not yet decided on park boundaries and logging continues in the region. Conservationists are urging immediate protection for the area to preserve these species.
