Meta signs multi-decade nuclear energy deal to power its AI data centers

Meta has expanded its commitment to clean energy by purchasing nuclear power from the Clinton Clean Energy Center in southern Illinois through a 20-year agreement, prioritizing renewable fuel for its data centers and recognizing nuclear's reliability. The deal ensures long-term operation of the existing plant, preserving jobs and partakes in over 1,000 local positions.
