The incident occurred after a similar problem disrupted flights for about 90 seconds last week, highlighting the growing strain on aging air traffic control infrastructure. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy acknowledged the need for upgrades but noted decades of neglect and limited funding, emphasizing the importance of investing in modern systems to prevent future disruptions.
