Parliament moves to boost transparency in lawmaker allowances

Japan's parliament has introduced new transparency rules requiring lawmakers to disclose their ¥1 million monthly allowances, which cover research, public relations, and accommodation expenses, while prohibiting these funds from being used for electoral activities, with spending now mandatory to be reported online.
