Kesha, the pop singer who has carved out a successful independent career while stepping back from her record label, is now channeling her energy into a new startup called Smash—a community-based platform designed to support and protect music creators. The platform aligns with the mission of her recently announced eponymous record label, offering a "community-first" hub for artists like LinkedIn does but tailored specifically for musicians. Co-founder CTO Alan Cannistraro brings a wealth of experience from Apple and Facebook, ensuring that the project prioritizes artist rights at every stage of creation.
