Trump tries to jump start peace talks with calls to Zelenskyy, Putin

US President Donald Trump attempted to revive efforts to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine by making back-to-back phone calls to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the calls, Trump reportedly pressed both leaders to discuss de-escalation measures, and afterward, he claimed that peace negotiations would begin "immediately."
