Thom Yorke and Mark Pritchard Share Uplifting New Song ‘The Spirit’ Ahead of ‘Tall Tales’ Arrival

Thom Yorke and Mark Pritchard's "The Spirit" is an upbeat yet challenging composition born from their unusual collaboration, despite their darker tendencies. The track faced recording hurdles when Pritchard’s drums didn’t fit with Yorke’s vocals, leading to a creative solution of using bass and percussion instead. Initially written in a major key for melancholy, the track’s upbeat nature surprised both artists as they refined it with additional contributions. Meanwhile, an upcoming film featuring album visuals will be shown in theaters tonight.
