A Silicon Valley VC Says He Got the IDF Starlink Access Within Days of October 7 Attack

Shaun Maguire, a prominent venture capitalist, claims he personally facilitated Israel’s rapid access to Starlink satellite internet after Hamas attacked Gaza in October 2023. The move occurred hours after the attack but wasn’t publicly acknowledged until months later by Israel, Elon Musk, and SpaceX. Aviv Eyal, Maguire’s colleague and a VC, first brought up the topic during an Israeli program's webinar. Israel allowed SpaceX to use Starlink without prior contractual agreements with the U.S., despite previous requirements, positioning it as a significant partnership.
