YouTube has introduced an experimental feature designed to enhance safety for users during searches, particularly for queries involving sexual themes. By blurring thumbnails in relevant search results while keeping video titles, channel names, and descriptions visible, YouTube aims to help users avoid unintended exposure to sensitive content. This limited rollout phase allows YouTube to assess the feature's effectiveness without compromising on user privacy or access to related information, distinguishing it from its SafeSearch tool which both filters and removes results.
