Lucasfilm has announced a new standalone Star Wars movie titled "Star Wars: Starfighter," set for release on May 28, 2027. Shawn Levy will direct the film, which stars Ryan Gosling and is scheduled to start shooting this fall. The story will feature new characters and take place a few years after Episode 9.
