‘I don’t have a relationship with my face’: Judi Dench models for a live sculpture

Judi Dench, a beloved 90s actor suffering from macular degeneration, surprised her fans by becoming the subject of an art sculpture. Artist Frances Segelman created a clay life-sized head of her using terracotta to raise funds for lymphoedema awareness. The sculpture, unveiled at Claridge's hotel in London during a charity event, raised over £20k and weighed more than 80kg. Though her age affected her appearance, Dench appreciated the creative process. The sculpture was presented as a gift, leaving attendees in awe of the unique piece.
