Employer.com scoops up another fintech in purchase of MainStreet.com

Employer.com has acquired MainStreet.com for an undisclosed amount, signaling its expansion into the startup support space. MainStreet, a San Jose-based company that helped startups secure R&D tax credits, saw $15 million in revenue in 2021 but faced financial trouble, including layoffs and a valuation decline post-IPO. The acquisition comes as Employer.com has been on a buying spree, recently snapping up bench accounting startups like Bench. Tinsley, Employer’s chairman, emphasized the integration aligns with the company’s goal of streamlining business back office solutions, from G Suite automation to potential TikTok buyout bids.
