Melania Trump statue disappearance investigated by Slovenian police

The bronze statue of Melania Trump, unveiled near her hometown in 2020 after a wooden version was burned, has been stolen, prompting a police investigation. The artwork by Brad Downey, an American conceptual artist, was cut at the ankles and removed during the theft. Police confirmed the incident on May 13, while Downey expressed sadness over its loss, noting he had previously planned to build a new project in Germany. The bronze statue, designed as an "anti-monument," was placed near Sevnica just before Donald Trump's re-election campaign, symbolizing his influence in Slovenia despite not visiting the country for Melania's homeland.
