Aurora’s driverless trucks are making deliveries in Texas

Aurora successfully operated its first fully autonomous tractor-trailers on public highways in Texas, covering over 1,200 miles without a driver between Dallas and Houston. The company, founded by Uber, Tesla, and Waymo alumni, operates for Uber Freight and Hirschbach Motor Lines, with CEO Chris Urmson sharing that he rode in the backseat during the first trip, calling it an "honor of a lifetime." Aurora aims to expand its driverless service to El Paso and Phoenix by late 2025.
