‘Love, hope, community and resistance’: ACLU to unveil 9,000 sq ft quilt for trans rights

Abdool Corlette, a trans advocate and filmmaker, created a 9,000 sq ft quilt as part of his project *Freedom to Be*, symbolizing resilience, love, and resistance against anti-trans legislation under Trump. Unveiled at WorldPride in Washington DC, the quilt aims to celebrate trans freedom and uplift those affected by harmful political climates while addressing threats to bodily autonomy and rebuilding trust. Corlette hopes *Freedom to Be* will inspire others facing similar challenges, drawing parallels to its origins as a descendant of the AIDS memorial quilt.
