Spotify seizes the day after Apple is forced to allow external payments

A federal court recently ruled Apple in violation of an injunction meant to let iOS apps offer alternative payment options, prompting app developers—including Spotify—to act swiftly. Spotify quickly updated its app, which now shows specific plan prices, links to its website for changes and purchases bypassing Apple's 30% commission, and displays promotional offers—all features previously blocked under Apple's rules. The company also claimed the new policy would benefit creators by enabling easier purchases, like audiobooks. Meanwhile, Apple has updated its App Review Guidelines and sent emails to developers regarding the changes.
