Lil Durk, a popular drill star, faces legal challenges over his 2022 murder-for-hire case against his rival, Whenro Rondo. His lawyers argue that federal authorities fabricated evidence by using lyrics he wrote six months prior to the shooting as proof of conspiracy, claiming the song "Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy" was released in December 2022 but Durk recorded it earlier in January 2022 with producers he worked with. They also deny the government's claim that his lyrics referenced a post-shooting YouTube video clip, asserting that Durk didn't create such clips or establish any connection to them.
