The former *Call the Midwife* actor reportedly convinced Elordi during a casual text exchange after Fennell faced backlash for casting a white actor as a traditionally black character. Margot Robbie, who plays Catherine Earnshaw opposite Elordi, has been praised by her co-star. The film, which will premiere on February 13, 2026, is currently in post-production and marks Warner Bros Motion Pictures' successful bid for distribution rights in a competitive bidding war.
