Stalking-related arrests surge by 24% in 2024 to record high

A sharp rise in stalking-related arrests has been recorded last year, with 1,341 individuals detained for violating anti-stalking laws—a figure unmatched since 2016. The number of arrests represents a 24.1% increase from the previous year, marking a significant jump in criminal activity. Additionally, restraining orders issued under these laws rose by 23%, reaching 2,415 total, with nearly 60% of them being emergency orders in urgent cases.
