Japan to issue residency certificates online to nationals abroad

"The Japanese Foreign Ministry has announced a streamlined process for issuing residency certificates to overseas Japanese nationals. Starting May 27, it will begin issuing these certificates online through diplomatic missions, except those in Iran and Russia, marking a shift from requiring in-person collection. This change aims to simplify procedures such as real estate registrations and pension applications by eliminating the need for in-person visits."
