Nepali breaks world record with 31st summit of Mount Everest

A 55-year-old Sherpa, Kami Rita, broke his own record for climbing Mount Everest by reaching the summit for his 31st time. Guiding an Indian army team along the southeast ridge, he made history as the most successful ascent by anyone in the world. Officials praised him as a global symbol of Everest, and despite breaking records, he remains motivated by helping Nepal’s mountaineering sector grow. His achievement surpasses that of his rival Pasang Dawa, who holds 29 summits.
