Japan government to boost support for job 'Ice Age' generation

The government has introduced measures aimed at supporting older workers, particularly those in their 40s and 50s who faced difficulties securing employment post-graduation between 1993 and 2004. The new framework includes training programs to enhance job opportunities, online courses for non-traditional workers nationwide, and assistance from municipalities to help reclusive individuals integrate into social activities. These initiatives are part of the government's strategy outlined in its fiscal 2026 guidelines and will also be incorporated into a proposed three-year support program starting next year.
