A little-known European company named Therme, which operates spas and water parks, including one in Romania, has sparked controversy with a 95-year lease agreement in Toronto. The contract with the Ontario government involves substantial public funding for the project. An audit revealed that the bidding process was unfair and lacked transparency, coinciding with Therme's plans to expand its operations across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
