Summary

A little over half a year after Christine and the Queens (a.k.a Chris) teamed with French disco producer Cerrone for a rendition of his 1977 hit “Supernature” at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Chris and Cerrone have collaborated on a new single, “Catching Feelings.” Like “Supernature,” a scurrying, skipping synth line propels the upbeat tune over which Chris playfully sings, “Don’t be afraid of catching feelings for me.” The song will feature on an upcoming four-track EP. Chris directed the song’s music video himself, catching footage of dancing in the studio while tracking the vocals, practicing a routine in a mirror, and venturing out into the street with white tulle covering his head and hands like veils. Of course, that can’t keep him from dancing. Rolling Stone called Christine and the Queens’ 2023 three-part pop opera, Paranoïa, Angels, True Love, one of the year’s best albums. “It takes 97 minutes to listen to Christine and the Queens’ moving, three-act pop opera, Paranoïa, Angels, True Love, but you need months to understand it fully,” the magazine said.
