High school student arrested over deaths of his grandparents

A 16-year-old high school student in Tahara, Aichi Prefecture, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his grandfather and grandmother to death in their home. He initially claimed to have found them dead but later admitted to the charges during police investigations. The couple, both in their seventies, died of hemorrhagic shock with stab wounds. The suspect reportedly killed them around 2 a.m. on Friday after discovering their collapse upon returning home with his mother at about 4:35 p.m., and later confessed that he had killed them in the early hours of that day, according to police. The student lives primarily with his grandparents but shares a building with his parents.
